10th Sikh Charity Bike Ride on Sunday 10th May 2009 @ Ilford, London United Kingdom

In association with Team Fauja who will be running in front of the charity bike ride.

Please bring all funds collected together with the sponsorship form to the registration desk at 8:00 am sharp on the 10th May 2009.

Please note a minimum of £20 must be collected for charity, to enter the ride.
1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes will be awarded for most money raised on the day.

SAFETY NOTES

BEFORE THE RIDE

  • Riders must be aged 10 or over to ride alone. Riders below 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the ride
  • Get fit for the day
  • Make sure your bike is road worthy and fit too, check tyre pressure, brakes, etc! (Dr Bike will take place at 6.00pm on 9th May at the rearof Singh Sabha, Goodmayes (come along if you want your bike checked)
  • Wear suitable clothing for the weather on the day – avoid jeans
  • Have a water bottle and if possible a puncture repair kit and loose change for a phone call

WHEN RIDING

  • This is NOT a race, so ride safely and for FUN
  • Ride in a single file and always obey the Marshal’s Cross roads when guided by a marshal/policeman/adult, and keep looking!
  • Stay in a group and do not cycle on your own
  • Be courteous to each other and other road users
  • Do not use Mobile phones while riding
  • Contact a sevadar/marshal if you need help or phone the mobile emergency number given on the day
  • Riders riding at their own risk

2. Any of the bikers who cannot afford a bike – and who raise £100 or more for the charity bike ride 2009 - can have a grade bike for free
3. Anybody who wants to buy a bike can have it at trade price but only for bike ride participants

1st UK Sikh Channel Launched - info @ sikhchannel.tv...

On the 14th April 2009, the 1st UK dedicated Sikh channel was launched in the UK. The channel is available on SKY, channel 840, which is also free to view. The website for the channel is shown below.

For those people outside of the UK in Europe who want to view TV channel and have astra satellite, the satellite name is "Astra 2A North", Transponder 40, Frequency 12.48 GHz Vertical polarisation.

The Sikh Channel will primarily provide education and religious programming for Sikhs and non Sikhs alike. The channel will be the first National Broadcast TV station to focus upon the essence of Sikhism providing a national television platform free to air for the Sikh Faith.

Also in approx January 2010, another Sikh Channel will launch. Their website is shown below.

Both channels will serve the sangat with both religious/spiritual and educational programs only.

Britains Got Talent 2009...

One of our favourite tv shows ever is "Britains got talent". The 2009 tv show has started filming, and will start airing this Saturday 11th April 2009! We all cant wait! lol :) Below are some of our fav bits...

Signature. These guys where the favourites to win the show, but unfourtunely they became the final runners up of the 2008 show, they became extremely popular in the country when the show went out.
