...Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj's message enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj is that of 'Freeing the Human Spirit'. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj showed that the indignities being committed against the weak and meek were wrong and deterred one from the spiritual path.

It is only through the alleviation of these corrupt practices, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj said, that one could attain spiritual progression. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj came with a message that was aimed at exalting a world that was mired in Maya.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj advocated that peace in the community and broader society could only be achieved by first attaingin inner peace. In order to show the folly of the oppression, hypocrisy, superstition and the indignities suffered by the people, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj exalted that which was being denigrated.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaaj streses the importance of the universality of humanity and the need to respect and love all of God's diverse and variegated creation.
